If your insurance company is not on this list, please contact me to find out if you have out-of-network benefits or to discuss requesting a Single Case Agreement (SCA) from your insurance company. Insurance companies are legally-required to cover appropriate treatment for your medical condition. If there are no providers on their panel who provide the necessary services to treat your condition (e.g. providing ERP for OCD) then I can help you pursue coverage for my services. Please contact me for more information on how to get started with your insurance company.
Private Pay Rates:
· $175 first session
· $150 per 60-minute subsequent session
· $125 per 45-minute subsequent session
I reserve several spots on my caseload for reduced-cost private pay clients who are otherwise unable to afford my full fee. All prospective clients should know that billing through insurance requires I submit a psychiatric diagnosis which then becomes part of your record and I must sometimes submit further clinical information to support the diagnosis. Private pay clients are not required to have a psychiatric diagnosis and all clients can elect to not use their insurance benefits in order to protect their private health information.
As a service to the community, I offer free, in-home meetings to new parents to support them in their transition with a newborn and to screen for postpartum anxiety, OCD, and depression as well as for trauma reactions following complex pregnancies and births. In-home screenings are also available to new adoptive parents and are always WOC, POC, and LGBTQ-friendly.
Payment is due at the time of appointment via cash, check, FSA/HSA, or credit card. I request that all clients keep a credit card on file to be billed for no-shows, late cancellations, and balances owed. Clients are responsible for verifying their insurance benefits and understanding the limits of their coverage. Any fees not covered by insurance including, but not limited to: deductibles , copays, coinsurance, and services not allowed by insurance (such as home visits or phone support) will be billed to the client. If a client has a balance owed upon termination or completion of therapy, I will first attempt to recoup payment by emailing the client an invoice. If a week (7 days) passes with no communication from the client regarding payment, I will then charge the credit card on file for the balance owed.
Please notify me of any appointment cancellations at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to avoid a $75 late cancellation fee. No-show appointments are billed at $125. Neither of these fees are covered by insurance.
I use an electronic health record (EHR) to store clients’ private health information. This EHR is HIPAA-compliant and secure. Clients can access the online client portal to check when their next appointment is, schedule/cancel/reschedule an appointment, pay their bill online, and send me secure messages. The EHR sends appointment reminders via email approximately 48 hours in advance of the session. This service is offered as a courtesy and should not be considered a client’s only means of keeping track of their appointments. Clients will be billed for any no-shows or late cancellations even if they did not receive a courtesy reminder from the EHR system.
The first 1-4 sessions with a client are an intake and diagnostic evaluation. It is sometimes the case that a client’s therapeutic needs exceed what I am able to provide on an outpatient basis. If this is determined, I make referrals to appropriate providers and programs. Clients may be referred to adjunctive or alternate services at any time during treatment if I determine that their needs exceed what I am able to provide.
